CODEC Training Center, Bagerhat.

The CODEC Training Center, situated in Bagerhat, was meticulously designed and constructed to offer residential training amenities to CODEC staff members while also available for rental to other organizations. Spanning an area of 56 katha, the facility encompasses a built-up area of 8500 sq. ft. on the ground floor and 4500 sq. ft. on the first floor, with an additional plaza area of 3000 sq. ft. The construction period extended from March 2009 to March 2010.

This training center is structured around three primary zones: academic, administrative, and residential, with provisions made for servant accommodations. Given its location in the historic city of Khalifatabad, there is ample opportunity to align the project with the city's philosophical ethos. Furthermore, being situated in the southwestern region of Bangladesh, the site holds significant geo-climatic importance.

The construction primarily employs brick as its material, with a structural system based on wall slabs. Exposed brick is utilized in the exterior to harmonize with the surrounding context. The project emphasizes the creation of open spaces, which are utilized for outdoor plazas and greenery, fostering a conducive environment for learning and relaxation alike.

The design of this training center was done in collaboration with Architect Ebadul Sheikh.
