Eco-Friendly Mosque
A community in Jatrapur, Bagerhat had long aspired to rebuild their aging mosque, a central place of worship and gathering. However, they faced significant challenges due to insufficient funds and technical obstacles. CODEC stepped in to help transform their aspirations into reality. By leveraging its resources and expertise, CODEC’s team facilitated the construction of a new mosque, addressing both the financial and technical hurdles.
The chosen site for the new mosque was beside the Khulna-Dhaka Highway. This strategic location was selected not only for its accessibility but also for its potential to serve a wider community. Situated along a major thoroughfare, the mosque provides convenient access for travellers and locals alike, enhancing the overall convenience and reach of the facility.
The design of the new mosque was meticulously planned with several key considerations to ensure it met the needs and values of the community. The architectural design emphasizes openness, creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This openness is intended to foster a sense of community and belonging among all visitors. More importantly, sustainability was a core principle in the mosque’s construction. Eco-friendly materials were chosen to minimize the environmental impact and promote sustainability. This approach not only supports ecological balance but also sets a positive example for the community. The mosque incorporates innovative cross lighting and ventilation systems. These features ensure ample natural light and air circulation throughout the building, enhancing the comfort and spiritual experience for worshippers.
Overall, the design embodies simplicity and purity of form, symbolizing the purity of the souls who will worship there. This architectural philosophy is reflected in the clean lines and unadorned spaces, creating a serene and contemplative environment.
